Aaliyah Haughton: VH1 Takes a Look Behind the Music

 

 

 

Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a beautiful R&B songstress whose death left a huge void in the music industry.  At a young age, she hit the scene bringing a classic style and elegance that women envied and men was drawn too.  At the age of 22, when she seemingly had it all, she was in an untimely plane crash that took her life in the Bahamas. VH1's behind the music took at in depth look at her life and the events leading up to her death.

 

The episode focused on her funeral, her relationship with Damon Dash, & her role in the movie Romeo Must Die.  They had interviews with the people who were closet to the singer and people who were with Aaliyah right before her untimely death.

Fred Martin Jr. Inglewood California: Father Dies Saved His Son

 

 

On the eve of April 3,2012 Fred Martin Jr. was cleaning out the garage of his home in Inglewood,CA.  Inside the garage with him, was his son Fredrick Demetrius Martin III (Tre) and his best friend who is also Tre's Godfather, Joey Hickman.  During the process, gunfire broke out in the 3200 block of West and 109th Street.

 

According to reports, two unknown assailants ran into the garage and opened fire. Martin, jumped to cover and protected his son and was struck twice in the stomach and chest. Martin made it to the hospital but did not survive surgery. Tre was grazed by a bullet but was not seriously injured.

Mark Wahlberg & The Rock were seen on set of the film they are filming No Pain No Gain and there was "beef cake" going on!  The two are playing two bodyguards in Florida who get caught in a kidnapping plot  that goes wrong.  

 

Of course, it would be expected that if you are going to play a body guard one would have to hit the gym, but the two have muscles on top of muscles.  Definitely worth a look!

Janet Jackson Debuts  Nu-Tri WEIGHT LOSS WAISTLINE

 

 

 

It has been a "Battle of the Weight Loss Wars" as weight loss companies have enlisted the top celebrities to be the spokesperson for their company.  The most popular transformations have been Jennifer Hudson for Weight Watchers and Mariah Carey for Jenny Craig.  Now Nutri-System is ready to enter the game and has come out swinging.  The company has debuted Janet's dramatic weight loss and they have the commercial and photos to go with it.

 

Janet looks fabulous and she doesn't want to talk numbers.  She told USA Today:

 

"I'm not putting a number on it. I don't look at the scale. I'm going about it in a different way this time." She doesn't need to lose "a great amount," she said, adding that she would stop "when I feel good about it."

Snow White & The Huntsman Queen Charlize Theron Graces May Vogue UK

 

 

Oscar winning actress, Charlize Theron, makes her fabulous premiere on the cover of the May issue of Vogue. In the issue, out Monday April 9,2012, Theron talks about her son, that she recently adopted and revealed the adoption last month.  The actress says baby Jackson is, " the coolest thing ever."  Theron, tells Vogue:

 

"I've always been very honest in saying I wanted a family. I've always know I wanted a family," she tells Vogue, before joking, "I don't think my mom could wait any more!"

 

 

Theron, is also playing Queen Ravenna in the upcoming movie Snow White & The Huntsman. The movie is scheduled to be in theaters June 1, 2012.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Hunger Games Bang?

 

 

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are officially dating.  They were caught coming from watching "The Hunger Games" yesterday in NYC.  Sources tell TMZ that they are  "just starting."  Kanye also just released a song called "Theraflu" which he acknowledges his love for Kim and disses Kris Humphries.  He says:

 

"And I admit I fell in love with Kim … 'Round the same time she fell in love with him … That's cool, babygirl, do your thing … Lucky I ain't had Jay drop him from the team."

 

Kanye is referring to Jay-Z's ownership in the New Jersey Nets, which Kris Humphries plays for.

Michelle Obama covers Ebony Magazine May 2012 Mother's Day Edition.  In the magazine, FLOTUS talks about raising her children, health, and being the First Lady!  The article is entitled "An Intimate Conversation With Michelle Obama".   The cover was shot by famed photographer Mark Baptiste.  She looks beautiful as she wears a dress blue dress by Tracy Reese.

Joshua Ledet & Jessica Sanchez WOW Again On AMERICAN IDOL

It was yet another great night for the two front-runners on "American Idol". It was 80's night and Joshua Ledet sang "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Simply Red.  If blew the roof off the house.  It made it his own and got a standing ovation, wows and was just indescribable. 

 

 

 

 

Jennifer Sanchez took on another Whitney Houston song.  Although it wasn't her best performance to date, she still managed to pull off a good rendition of Whitney's "How Will I Know".  She looked stylish and had lots of fun on stage.  

 

 

The two were then paired together and sang "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me" by Aretha Franklin and George Michael.  They did a wonderful job had some, like J. Lo. hinting that maybe they could be the two to make it to the final!
