Michael Phelps Has Nothing To Prove Despite 4th Place 400IM

Swimmer Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps placed fourth in the 400m IM today in what's being considered very stunning as he and Ryan Lochte had one of the most hyped of rivalries coming into the games.  Phelps lost to Lochte by more than 4 seconds.  This is the first time he hasn't placed for a medal since he was 15.  After he exited the pool, he told his coach, Bob Bowman, "it was bad".  His coach replied that it was.  Despite the loss, one can't forget that Phelps, overall, has 16 medals, 14 of which are gold.   Of the loss, he said:

"It's frustrating, that's all I can say. It's pretty upsetting," Phelps said. "The biggest thing now is to try to look forward. I have a bunch of other races, and hopefully we can finish a lot better than how we started."
