Breaking News: Herb Reed of The Platters Has Passed at 83
My Fabulous Style is sad to report Herb Reed, the last surviving member of the 50's group, The Platters, have passed away at the age of 83. Although no cause of death has been announced, his publicist says that he passed away of a long health battle with lung issues. The group had hits such as "Smoke In Your Eyes," and "The Great Pretender." The group, which included original members Joe Jefferson, Cornell Gunther and Alex Hodge, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. He is survived by his son Herb Jr. and three grandsons.
