Singer Ray-J Had to Be Taken To Hospital

Singer/Actor Ray-J has been hospitalized for dehydration and exhaustion.  TMZ is reporting:

We're told Ray J was extremely upset after his confrontation with Whitney Houston's family — notably Pat Houston — during the awards ceremony.  On Monday morning, someone went into Ray J's hotel room and realized the singer was "out of it" and couldn't get out of bed.

We're told Ray J was extremely disoriented and was immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance.

As for what happened … it's looking like a combo of exhaustion and dehydration.  Ray J had just returned from a quick, 32-hour round trip to China for business and when he landed he immediately drove 4 hours to Las Vegas for the awards show.

Update:  Ray-J's publicist released a new statement as to why Ray really went to the hospital:

Ray J has been released from the hospital in Las Vegas and is back home in Los Angeles following an extensive battery of tests to make sure that he did not have a blood clot in his lungs which is potentially a deadly condition that can occur following a long haul plane flight.

It is the same condition that took the life of hip-hop legend Heavy D last year. Ray J had arrived in Vegas Sunday following a 32 hour round trip from China and four hour drive to Las Vegas.

He has been released from the hospital.

Jordin Sparks V MAGAZINE Remembering WHITNEY HOUSTON

Jordin Sparks V MAGAZINE Remembering WHITNEY HOUSTON

Jordin Sparks will be in V Magazine's issue and she has a poignant interview in which she remember Whitney Houston.  The star who co-starred with Whitney, in the up-and-coming movie Sparkle talked to the mag about the time she spent with the legendary with the legendary singer and getting to know her before her death.

Part musical, part cautionary tale, the movie tells the story of three sisters, Sparkle, Delores (Tika Sumpter) and Sister (Carmen Ejogo), whose successful Motown singing act disintegrates in the face of drug addiction and familial strife. Originally Houston had signed on solely as exectutive producer, but eventually agreed to also play the girls’ mother, Emma. “I think she was hesitant at first, and then she said, ‘Yeah, I really want to do that,” says Sparks.

On set in Detroit at the first table read, Sparks, who has d worshiped the pop star since childhood, was appropriately tongue-tied. “She walked in and I was like, ‘This. Is. Awesome.’” But over time the two women grew close, bonding over a slavish devotion to the craft-services table and a near constant habit of singing under their breath. “One day, actually, she was walking behind me and singing ‘I Have Nothing,’” recalls Sparks. “And then she reached out and said, ‘I forgot I sang that. I was annoyed that day and just didn’t ant to do it. We ended up doing it in three takes!’”

When Houston died unexpectedly in February, Sparks (who attended her memorial service) was grief-stricken. “She was always so full of light,” she says, choking back tears . “Every day… she would open the door and ask, ‘How are my babies this morning? Are my babies good? God is good. Praise the Lord.’”

Still Sparks has no illusions about the demons that plagued her late costar (and, ironically, some of the films characters). “I can see how people can fall and people can flip or they can just get in with the wrong crowd.”

The movie will debut August 17, 2012

Rihanna: BATTLESHIP Pajama Jammie JAM, WOULD GIVE TO PLAY WHITNEY HOUSTON

Rihanna is fast promoting the movie Battleship and at the premiere in Japan the singer wore a set of Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 pantsuit. The singer looked radiant and fresh as she graced the red carpert meeting up with fellow co-stars Brooklyn Decker, Gregory Gadson, Brooklyn Decker, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, and Tadanobu Asano at the International Yoyogi.  The singer just recently revealed her new black hair-do as she had been previously sporting blond locks.

She has been doing major PRfor the film while in Japan tweeting photos of herself flying on a helicopter and enjoying her time while in Japan.  Also the singer most recently remarked about the possibility of playing Whitney Houston in a movie and said:

"My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song: 'I Will Always Love You,'" Rihanna said. "It was really inspiring, and it made me develop a passion for music, so really, she's partly responsible for me being here in this industry.

"That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off," the "Talk That Talk" singer continued. "That's a huge, huge role, and whoever does it has to do a good job."

She had been rumored to be in the running to be a choice to play Whitney Houston in a movie biopic about the singer's life.  Only time will tell if the movie is made and if she would get a part in it.  For now it is all about Battleship!

Whitney Houston was on the road to a major comeback and a part of that comeback was doing the remake of the movie "Sparkle".  A clip of the trailer was released today and played on the "Today",  giving you a first look at the singer along with Cee-Lo & Jordin Sparks.  The official synopsis states:

"Musical prodigy Sparkle (Sparks) struggles to become a star while overcoming issues that are tearing her family apart. From an affluent Detroit area and daughter to a single mother (Whitney Houston), she tries to balance a new romance with music manager, Stix (Derek Luke) while dealing with the unexpected challenges her new life will bring as she and her two sisters (Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter) strive to become a dynamic singing group during the Motown-era."

Many who worked with the singer on the movie said she delivered a powerful performance, possibly Oscar-contending.  They were originally going to remake the movie in 2001, with the late singer Aaliyah set to play Jordin Sparks character at the time.   Aaliyah suddenly passed away and the movie was put on hold.
