Actress Angelina Jolie has made the revelation in The New York Times that she made the difficult choice of having a double mastectomy.  Her mother passed away of breast cancer and Angie was tested to see if she had the BRCA1 gene, which is a gene that highly increases a woman's chance of developing breast and ovarian cancer.  She says it was a difficult decision, but one that was proactive and a medical choice.  Check out excerpts from the interview.

 

"I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made," Jolie wrote. "My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent."

 

"For any woman reading this, I hope it helps you to know you have options," Jolie wrote. "I want to encourage every woman, especially if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer, to seek out the information and medical experts who can help you through this aspect of your life, and to make your own informed choices."

 

She also thanked Brad Pitt for his support and adds she can tell her children they don't have to fear losing her to breast cancer.

Angelina Jolie always manages to turn heads wherever she goes, but one Oscar 2012 night, her right leg stole the show.  After Angelina kept sticking her right leg out that night, the next day she became the source of some ridicule and comic fodder.  It became so infamous, a twitter page was dedicated to  Angelina's right leg.

 

Angelina hasn't publicly commented on the incident but now has come forth and said:

 

"I honestly didn't pay attention to it. You know what I mean? I don't watch those TV shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don't click on it. . . I heard something, but I didn't pay any attention. It's as simple as being a woman picking a dress you like and having a night, and not really thinking about anything else."

Angelina proved she still the baddest in the game as she showed last night that she is all leg.  For the past few weeks, when Angelina did press overseas for "In The Land of Blood and Honey", she has been critized for wearing what some called 'matronly attire'.  She apparently put all that to rest last night showing up in a beautiful Altilier Versace, with a high cut spit accentuating her leg.

 

She made it a point to show the world the split by insisting on a certain pose as seen above. 

 

 

 

 

Angelina Jolie was continuously seen adjusting her dress to ensure the cameras caught her sexy pose and ensure her split was caught on camera.  The sexy pose was continued as she came on stage to give awards as well. She and Brad appeared fun, flirtatious, and were all smiles throughout the night. When she did the pose onstage, she came to the microphone, struck her pose, stood there for a few seconds to jeers and claps and whistles!  After she presented the award, one of the winners mocked her pose.

 

 

 

Audience watchers on twitter took notice to Angelina's pose as well and someone created an account for her leg which has attracted over 10,000 followers.  Who knew someone's leg could be so popular, but let's not forget this is Angelina!
