Kate Upton covers August GQ Italia 2012 magazine. Kate wears a tee-shirt and shorts on the cover as she poses provacatively. She wears various brands ranging from H & M, Intimissimi, & House of Noyes & Current Elliot. The spread was shot by Guy Aroch. She tells the magazine:
On the backlash to her nun character in The Three Stooges:
I understand why the Catholic Church is angry with me. But it's all just a joke.
On being teased about her lack of curves when she was younger:
In junior high school [people] made fun of me because I was ‘flat.’ They said I was ugly because I did not have boobs. So I have always envied those who had. When I finally grew up and [they] appeared… I'm in love!"
Kate Upton is still getting fashionable as she poses covers Sunday Times. Upton, who has been criticized for her shapely curves, continues to try to be seen and accepted among fashion critics as "high fashion". The 5'10, 20-year-old model first made a major splash in the modeling world after being named Sports Illustrated's Cover Girl 2012. She has since had a wave of success appearing on the cover of many magazines. Even with all the success she has garnered, some in the fashion industry still question whether she is fit for high-fashion modeling. Kate has recently said she is happy with her body!
Kate Upton has taking the modeling world by storm, defying some critics who say she doesn't fit the persona of what a "fashion model" is. Even with the criticism she has weathered the storm and still continues to get major covers and modeling jobs. Not everyone is on the Kate bandwagon as a Pro-anorexia website, SkinnyGossip, has posted scathing comments about Upton. A writer on the site says she looks "thick and vulgar." They also go on to make comments like:
“Guess who?! Yes, it’s the lovely Kate Upton, confidently lumbering up a runway like there’s a buffet at the end of it,” the anonymous poster writes.
“She looks thick, vulgar, almost pornographic – and she is a solid Alba too heavy for this outfit."
The write goes on to criticize Kate's Carl's JR. commercial, they said:
I thought cannibalism was illegal?!? If that’s not a very different species of cow, Kate could be in legal trouble!”
Supermodel Kate Upton appeard on Jimmy Fallon and showed him how to do the "Cat Daddy," a dance she did at a Terry Richardson, shoot which caused an internet sensation. The dance was so racy, it got banned by Youtube, before finally being allowed back on the site. Kate showed Jimmy how to do the dance, to the audience's jubilation, but Jimmy didn't seem to have quite the "swag" for the dance. Jimmy told Kate she should do because she was better at it than him. She was on the show promoting her up-and-coming GQ Magazine Cover for July 2012.
Kate Upton has to be the model face of 2012 being featured on Sports Illustrated, Muse and a host of other popular mags, so it was just a matter of time before she landed the mother of men's magazine covers GQ. The photo was released for the July cover and Kate is doing what she does best, posing in a sexy manner in a bikini top. In the magazine, Kate talks wearing bikinis and the best thing she had done since becoming famous.
“I grew up in Florida riding horses, so for the majority of my life I was either in boots and jeans or a bathing suit. I understand why my male followers like me.… It’s like any job. You find your strengths and play them up."
"For the GQ photo shoot, we were on that ride where the seat spins while the actual ride is spinning, and I'm wearing a one-piece. And all of a sudden the whole entire top falls off! I'm holding myself, laughing, turning bright red, but a lot of people are watching, so they kicked us out of the Santa Monica Pier—it was so embarrassing…You wouldn't think that would happen with a one-piece!"
The cover, of course, is racy to say the least, and is sure to cause some upheaval. The edition is celebrating the Fourth of July and probably sure to be a best-seller! The edition goes on sale June 26, 2012
Before she became Kate Upon the ubber, sex symbol supermodel, Upton was an up-and-coming teen who wanted to be the model at the top of the game. Though it didn't take long for her dreams to come true, photos have surfaced of the model between the ages of 15-17, showing shots from early day Elite Model Management Miami. Now-a-days, Kate is now one of the most in demand models in the industry.
Kate Upton continues to get companies to jump on the Kate Bandwagon as Direc TV has enlisted her to help, well sell Direc TV. She rolls around in the sand in a bikini, which some may wander what that has to do with buying Direc TV. Marketing geniuses know what there doing.
All Kate says is '"Go get DirecTV. Right now. I'll wait." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Kate continues on the upward of the modeling ladder! Go Girl!
With all the controversy with Kate Upton's body and curves being on the runway, one place that is glad to welcome her body and her curves was Mexico City. Kate strutted her stuff in Mexico City's Fashion Week. This is a stark contrast to the stick-thin models that are walking down Paris Fashion Week. Since being announced as Sports Illustrated Cover Model 2012, Kate has been on a wave of success, most recently starring as in a Carl's Jr. commercial.
What do you think? Should there be more curvy models on the runway?
