Michelle Obama covers Vogue Magazine for a second time, first covering the magazine in March 2009 when President Obama first won the Presidency.  She looks chic in a blue Reed Krakoff ensemble as she stares confidently into the camera. The spread was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.  FLOTUS discusses family and critics in the April 2013 edition of the magazine. She says that women should wear what makes them feel good about themselves.

 

She also discusses her family and what is important to them.   She says her and the President seek to spend free time with their daughters, Sasha and Malia, adding their job first and foremost is to make them whole.  She also speaks about giving their daughters a sense of normalcy in the White House stating the Secret Service have become more flexible to help insure that they have a normal life!  You can check out the full interview when it hits newsstands.

Tracy Reese, who so beautifully designed Michelle Obama's DNC speech dress debuted her Spring/Summer Collection 2013. She has been recieving much attention since M. Obama wore her classically designed dress at last Thursday's DNC convention.   It was a collection inspired by fabrics offered at the Paris fabrics collections.  She experimented with cuts, patterns, shapes, and colors.  Models strutted down the runway to a packed house.  She said she wanted to play with juxtapositions and should be worn by a woman who is confident and comfortable in her own skin.  Congratulations Tracy Reese.

Michelle Obama Delivers

Michelle Obama delivered at the DNC Tuesday night.  Looking beautiful and speaking eloquently about her love for Barack and at times getting teary eyed as she described the emotion that Barack feels when he reads letters of despair some Americans experience in their lives.  Michelle told the excited crowd, "Barack knows the American Dream because he has lived it.  She had many in the audience enthroned in her passionate plea to their constituents to remember the vision that Barack set out to do for the Americaan people and do what they can to get fired back up and help him get re-elected  

 

Michelle Unleashed

She continued to create a very vivid picture of Barack's policies and said that for him these things are personal and you can't seperate two.  Barack watched from the White House along with their two daughters.  Michelle went into the convention with the best favorability among all political figures.  The Democrats are creating an air that this election is about a choice…two different platforms and its up to you to decide which one is the right one for the direction of the country.

The former editor-and-chief of the New York Times has written an explosive book about Barack and Michelle Obama entitled "The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House".  The biggest claims,however, are about Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey's relationship.  In the book, he claims Michelle has little trust Obama and is "unusually jealous".  He also says she orders women that are close to Obama to be watched.  

 

Pertaining to Oprah, he claims FLOTUS objects to Obama's close relationship with Winfrey and Oprah once concluded that Michelle hates "fat people".  During the first term, Klein says Michelle's "obsessive behavior" was the talk of the White House.  Excerpts from the book says:

 

"Michelle makes it clear to her inner circle…that she wants women around Barack watched and wants info about who he has an eye for and gets touchy with.  ‘The thing is, she knows, like everybody, about JFK’s shenanigans, and she thinks, hey, JFK was young and good looking like my guy.".

 

 

He continued in the book by saying that after the 08 elections Obama gave Oprah's advice priority.  He wrote:

 

 

 ‘"When she (Winfrey) phoned, he dropped everything and took her call. They huddled over strategy. Of all of Obama’s unofficial White House advisers, Oprah had unparalleled access, input, influence, and power."

 

 

He continued to say that Michelle was "furious" about Barack's late night phone calls with Winfrey and it blew over when she thought Oprah urged Bill Clinton to run against Obama for re-election.  It has lots more juicy claims, and  no comments have been made from the White House as of yet.

 

 

Update: Critics of the book are calling it untrue and "non-sense".

Trayvon Martin Updates: Michelle Obama Speaks about the Tragedy

 

 

 

 

Michelle Obama has commented on the Trayvon Martin case.   She says that her "heart goes out to the parents" of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the unarmed teenager who was fatally shot by a self-professed neighborhood volunteer in Florida on February 26.  She also added  that all parents understand  "the tragedy of that kind of loss." Martin was shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman, who has claimed self-defense.

 

Potus adds it's important "not to lose sight of the fact that this is a family that's grieving and there's been a tremendous loss.', 'we all have to rally around that piece of it."

The Obamas have always been known for having a great relationship, being together over19 years.  While at a campaign stop, Obama talked candidly about the first time he and Michelle went on their first date. The President said:

 

 "I took her to the Art Museum at the Art Institute, I was trying to impress her, to show her I was a real cultural guy."  He added,  "It worked!"

 

Michelle had once declined Barack's advances.  He continued to pursue her and the rest is history.

The video was released by Barack's campaign and is a part of a series entitled "Dinner With Barack and Michelle".  Donors have a chance to win dinner with the President and Michelle.

 

 

In Michelle Obama News, Michelle Obama presented Taylor Swift, today at the 25th Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, with The Big Help Award.  Taylor was in total shock and disbelief when she was presented by FLOTUS.  

 

Michelle said of Taylor:

 

"Every step of the way [Taylor] has always made it a point to give back," said Obama in her presentation speech. "She's support childrens' charities, she's worked to combat bullying and given away books to schools and libraries all around the country. She's given so much of her own money to victims of natural disasters here and around the world."

Michelle Obama Wows At Governor's Ball

 

 

 

 

 

Michelle Obama wowed at the 2012 Governor's Ball wearing a creamed-colored gown with decorated leaves and flowers and a chiffon bow on one shoulder.  She and husband President Barack Obama hosted the affair which is a part of the National Governor's Association Winter Meeting.  Many people are hailing the dress as beautiful, gorgeous, and glamorous.  Mrs. Obama has become quite the style fashion icon!

 

The menu served to some of the guest has come under some scrutiny as some people have said it contradicts Mrs. Obama's 'Healthy Eating Initiative'.  Some of the things available to eat were Rib-eye Steak and Crab Mac & Cheese.  With that said, Obama, himself, gave a rousing toast to all the governors and compliments to the wives who 'put up with them'.
