Mainstream: Oprah Will Appear on Keeping Up With the Kardashians

 

 

 

 

The Kardashians & Oprah Winfrey are becoming quaint.  Oprah signed a release will appear on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.  A source told US Weekly Oprah:

 

“truly did bond with the Kardashians” when they taped their two-part appearance on Winfrey’s OWN network.  They added, “In particular she was intrigued by Kim and how she has expanded that Kardashian brand — both for herself and for the entire family.”

 

Oprah's representative has confirmed that she will indeed appear on an up-and-coming episode.

Kim Kardashian reveals more about her relationship with Kanye West on the second part of Oprah's Next Chapter.  Kim tells Oprah that she still wants her "forever."  Oprah asks the 31-year-old reality star if Kanye is her fairytale which she replies:

 

"I feel like I'm at a really happy, good space," she explains. "I don't know why it took so long for us to get together."

 

She also goes on to reveal that she and Kanye have lots in common, including the death of their parents.  The interview with Kim along with the rest of the Kardashian's will air June 24, 2012 at 8/7c.

Oprah says that Kim Kardashian is older, wiser and showing more maturity as Kim agreed with the Big O.  Oprah taped a two-part segment with the most famous reality-show family in the world.  Kim spoke candidly about what she went through with her  72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, being famous for being famous and more.  Some of the things Kim said in her interview with Oprah:

Kim Kardashian Gets THE BIG O APPROVAL

 

 

It's no secret that Oprah interviewed the Kardashian family and Kim and the family has expressed their excitement over having the media mogul interview them.  Kim posted the above pic to her Instagram account. Kim tweeted earlier in the week:

 

"Ummmm no big deal Oprah just left my mom's house! #DreamComeTrue."

 

Oprah has been accused of stooping to low-levels and being desperate because of poor ratings for OWN Network. However, Oprah revealed she had never watched the show and got caught up with previous seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.  She also revealed why she wanted to interview the family.  She said:

 

"I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them. Are they completely ego centered? Are they really "famous for being famous" or is there something more?" She continued,  "This interview I'd say was another level of forthrightness and honesty.  Who surprised me the most?  Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.  'Everyone who's asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days?  Her answer leveled me."

Kim and the gang have officially made it.  Love them are hate them the family is a "household name."  The Kardashian Family will be interviewed this coming Sunday on Oprah's show on the OWN Channel "Oprah's Next Chapter."  Kim is so excited about being on the show she took to her blog and said:

 

This is beyond amazing! We are so excited to reveal that the entire family is going to be on Oprah’s Next Chapter on the Oprah Winfrey Network this Sunday, June 17, at 8/7c.

I’ve always looked up to Oprah Winfrey as a strong, smart business women and admire all of the incredible work she does for charity, so to actually be on her show with my family is just surreal.

Oprah Winfrey Will Give Spellman's Commencement Speech

 

 

Oprah Winfrey will be giving the commencement speech at Spellman College on May 20.  This is sure to be some life, changing advice from on of the most successful African-American businesswomen of our times.  In 1993, she recieved an honorary degree from the school and also she will recieve Spellman's National Service Award.

 

Some of Oprah's students from her leadership in South Africa have been accepted in Spellman's 2016 year.   The President of Spellman said of the up-and-coming-event in a statement:

 

We are thrilled to welcome Oprah Winfrey back to our campus to receive this well-deserved award. I know her address to the Class of 2012 will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the graduates, as it did in 1993.”

Trayvon Martin Updates: Oprah Says It's A Shame

 

 

Oprah Winfrey, who is perhaps the best interviewer of our time, was recently asked by Extra about the Trayvon Martin case.  Trayvon Martin was a 17-year-old African- Americanunarmed male who was shot dead by a neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman.

 

Martin was only carrying a bag of Skittles and Arizona Ice-Tea.  Zimmerman was not arrested and charged and it has sparked a national outcry for his arrest and extreme criticism of how the Sanford Police has handled. the case.  Oprah said about the case:

 

"It is a tragedy and it is a shame that we're sitting here 33 days later and there hasn't been an arrest, or questioning of what actually happened. It's a tragedy and it is a shame and we all know it."  

 

She went on to say that she would like to interview George Zimmerman.

Oprah was also asked about the reaction to Travyvon Martin's Killing, and she replied:

 

"I saw some people on Twitter saying nothing has changed, the same thing's going on," she said. "Lots has changed and you know why? Because black people, white people, brown people, yellow people all over this country and all over the world are saying the same thing… it's a tragedy and it's a shame and justice needs to be served."

3.5 Million Reasons For Oprah Winfrey Joy

 

 

 

Oprah has about 3.5 million reasons to smile today.  From early estimates, it appears she drew the biggest audience to date for the OWN Network with her interview with Bobbi Kristina, and the Houston Family.  Since the inception of OWN, the network has struggled with ratings.  

 

This will be a milestone for the network.  Entire cable reports probably won't be in until Tuesday, March 13, 2012, but "Oprah's Next Chapter" will likely top the Top 5 Broadcasts.

 

During the interview, Oprah became visibly shaken when Whitney Houston's sister-in-law recounted finding out when Whitney passed.  Patricia Houston stated that she headed down the hallway, hearing screams.  She says she got to the room and knew something was wrong.

 

She opened the door and saw her brother Ray, doing CPR on Whitney, almost to the point of exhaustion.  She says the paramedics had come a little after she arrived and asked her to leave the room, but she couldn't.  She said, though, when they put the cover over Whitney's face, she knew that was it.

 

 

 

Oprah's Network has been gaining some traction.  It the month of February, the network gained 12% in Primetime!
