During the Olympics, Gabby's hair became the topic of choice for some, which ended up overshadowing her triumphant accomplishments and gold medals.  Some people criticized her hair via Twitter for being in slipped back and gelled down.  Gabby responded during that time by saying:

"It's so disrectful!  'I'm not thinking about that.  I'm thinking about bringing a gold medal home."

Gabby is on a publicity tour and showed off her new hairstyle yesterday.  Ted Gibson, hairstylist to the stars, created Gabby's new look whom she happily thanks on Twitter.  No matter what, Gabby looks great!

Cam Newton graces his prescence on the cover of GQ Magazine September 2012 showing off his cute dimples and million dollar smile.  The Carolina Panther's quarterback who had a stellar year at Auburn University and an unforgettable season his rookie year. The stellar quarterback continues to be a favorite for the magazines and is very popular with the ladies.  Newton spoke candidly in the interview about his father Cecil and the pay-for play scheme, Tim Tebow, whom is also featured on a dual cover, and his playing days at Florida.

Newton says the pay-for play scheme, which his father was accused of being offered an 180,000 donation to his church in turn for Cam playing at Mississippi State, bought he and his father closer together.  He added that he didn't ask his father about the situation.  He said if he had taken the time and asked Tim to study the playbook, he would have done it, adding he didn't take advantage of what was in front of him when he was playing with Tim in Florida.  He says he was unfocused and immature then and he would never make that mistake again.

Usain’s INSANE BOLT

Usain's INSANE BOLT

Usain Bolt proved many of his naysayers wrong.  Prior to the men's 100m last night, many of his critics wandered whether Bolt still had it in him to retain the title of "the fastest man in the world."  He put it all to rest yesterday as he defended his title to a packed house in London and finished first, winning gold.  He set a new record of 9.63 seconds.  The charismatic running star said he wasn't worried about the start, but the finish was important.

Rumors had dogged the star leading up to the race as his fellow country Yohan Blake, who ironically finished second in the race, defeated him in the men's 100 & 200m in the Jamaican Olympic trials.  After yesterday's performance, though, he answered all the questions people had about whether he could pull it off!

Michael Phelps: Ties As Most Decorated Olympian

Michael Phelps: Ties As Most Decorated Olympian

Michael Phelps just  tied as one of the most decorated Olympians in history, a record that was held only by the Soviet's Larisa Latynina.  He just swam the men's 200-meter butterfly, which was considered his signature race.  He held on to a steady lead most of the race until South-Africa's Chad Le Clos touched the wall before Phelps.  Clos had a finishing time of 1:52.96 and Phelps touched the wall right behind him at 1:53.01.  Even though this should be a celabratory time for Phelps, coming in second didn't sit well with him.  When he saw the "2" by him name, he reportedly threw his cap.  He was competing to become the first male to win gold for the same individual event in three straight Olympics.  He was heavily favored to win this race as he had previously won gold in 2004 and 2008 for the race.  He so far has 2 silver medals and still has a chance to become the winningest Olympian in history as he has a few more races left to compete in.

Update: Michael has now become the most decorated Olympian in history.  Just one hour after winning silver in the men's 200-m butterfly, the U.S men swim team has one gold in the 4×200 meter freestyle.  The team consisted of Ryan Lochte, Ricky Berens, and Conor Dwyer, and of course, Michael.  He now has a total of 19 medals, and a chance to win more as he has other races left. Winning any more medals will be icing on the cake.   Congrats Michael!
